Spike is our Bearded Dragon, she loves to welcome people as they enter the zoo. Bearded Dragons live in arid, rocky, semi-desert regions and dry open woodlands of Australia.
Bearded Dragons have an average life span of 10–20 years, although some have been known to live longer. We love looking after Spike her favourite foods are grated carrot and wax moth larvae, and she loves to bask in the sun.

These unusual and fascinating frogs are new to the Franklin Zoo & Wildlife Sanctuary coming from Auckland Zoo.
Franklin Zoo and Wildlife Sanctuary in Tuakau has been the home for Jumbo (Mila) the retired circus elephant for the past eighteen months.
