This week has been very exciting… Mila is out of quarantine and exploring her new home! Over the last few days Mila has been learning her environment which is an important step before she meets the other elephants. Some elephants take awhile to get comfortable in new surroundings, but not Mila! She explored every inch of each of the yards she has been given access to and has even laid down!
Elephants that are nervous or unsure do not lay down because it is a vulnerable position. Mila, however, is showing confidence and has really adapted to her new home well. It won’t be too much longer until she starts the process of meeting all the other elephants!
