Mila has been cleared of TB and is fit and well and is now out of quarantine getting to know her new surroundings at San Diego Zoo. She has shown herself to be very courageous and her first steps out of quarantine into her new yards have been fantastic supported by her San Diego Zoo carers.
San Diego Zoo elephant care team have a vast experience and success at giving sanctuary to and care for aging elephants just like Mila. They will support her over the next few weeks as she gets to know her new habitat and then gradually be introduced to the other elephants.
