Our cotton topped tamarins x4 are all living at Butterfly Creek in Auckland. www.butterflycreek.co.nz

Our thanks to John at Butterfly Creek for creating a lovely new home for the four tamarins.

Our Cotton Topped Tamarins, Merinda and Ay, Miracle and Chaska, are best friends. They spend most of their day in the trees, hardly ever coming down to the ground. Because they are tree dwellers, if you look carefully you’ll see they have long fingers and toes for gripping branches, and claws for climbing. And of course, a very clever tail for balance.

They come from the tropical rain forests and dry, deciduous forests of North West and South America.

They eat primarily fruit and insects; occasionally eats flowers, nectar, lizards and frogs.
