The ring tailed lemurs have been moved to Gorge Wildlife Park in South Australia after their quarantine at Adelaide Zoo. www.gorgewildlifepark.com.au

Lemurs come from Madagascar and our group here are all females. They love the sun and will sit with their arms wide soaking up the sunshine on their bellies. Their stripey tails are used for balance and also carry a scent so when they are on the ground, they don’t lose sight of each other. Lemurs love to frolic and are extremely playful animals.

Their habitat is deciduous primary forests, forest floor closed brush where few trees grow. They eat fruit, leaves and bark and in the wild primarily the Tamarind tree.
